The Atomic Weight of Love - Elizabeth J. Church

This doesn't happen to me often, The Atomic Weight of Love has replaced my favourite book of all time. I fell in love with every character in this book. Elizabeth J. Church has written the most beautiful novel I have ever had the pleasure to read.

Meridian Wallace is at the University of Chicago, studying Ornithology. Crows are her bird of choice - their intelligence enthrals her. As does her physics professor, Alden Whetstone. Sure, he's over 20 years her senior, but as she spends more time with Alden, she falls in love with his mind and his soul. When Alden confesses his love to her, she couldn't be happier - until Alden is given the opportunity of a life time, to work on a top secret project to stop World War 2 for good.

Alden moves to Los Alamos, New Mexico and asks Meridian to follow him on the promise of marriage and a one year trial period. She accepts and moves across the country to be with her love. Taking her study of Crows with her, she thought she would return in a year to get her PhD. Sometimes life doesn't work out how we planned.

25 years later, Meridian is bitter. Alden lived the life he wanted. With Meri's help, Alden achieved his goals  but at what cost to Meri? She didn't live her life. She didn't achieve her goals. Life was dull until a young geologist named Clay showed up. Clay made Meri see the world and enjoy it again. He brightened up her life until something happens in her life that turns everything upside down.

The Atomic Weight Of Love RRP$34.99 is a wonderful read. I couldn't put it down!
