The Angels' Share - J. R. Ward

Lately I've been really getting into my crime/thriller reads. I've been really enjoying snuggling up with a hot cuppa and a good novel. This time, that novel is The Angels' Share

When a very wealthy man and owner of bourbon distillery, William Baldwin, is found drowned on the banks of the great Ohio River, all signs lead to suicide. William appears to have jumped from the bridge. Was it to avoid the crippling debt he had put his company in, or was it murder?

William's children, Edward, Max, Gin and Lane slowly come to suspect murder. But who would want to murder their father? William has made many enemies, as youngest son Lane, slowly comes to realise. Lane does his best to save the family business, which has been in the family for over 200 years. Although after his fathers embezzlement, there isn't much left to save.

Based all around a manor, which still has butlers, housemaids, gardeners and cooks - I was enthralled from page one. The Angels' Share is the second book in the series and is a fantastic read. You may even learn a thing or two about distilling your own bourbon whisky along the way!

If you could brew your own drink, what would it be?
